Italian higher education for international students

Exams of Academic suitability

In some countries, admission to university/universitiy-level H.Ed. studies is subject to special exams (exams of academic suitability): e.g. Concurso Vestibular in Brazil, Pruebas de Selectividad in Spain, Prova de Aferiçao /Prova Geral de Acesso ao Ensino Superior in Portugal, Gao Kao examination in China, etc..

In such cases, the applicant for admission to Italian H.Ed. programmes must prove that he/she has passed such selections with the required scores. In the negative, the host Italian institution may decide to make admission subject to a selective examination.

An exception is made for Chinese candidates, who are not obliged to meet the requirement of the Gao Kao examination: this is a decision Italy has recently made on an experimental basis taking into account the latest developments in its institutional cooperation relations with China.
